Dipping my toe
Today is the first day of my first blog. I named it 'LOLLAPALOOZA' - meaning "something excellent" - which I thought was very appropriate. I wanted this blog to help me document anything that I caught my fancy.
A big addition to my kitchen
After a lot of deliberation, we have finally taken the plunge and bought a Vitamix 5200 blender yesterday! I am looking forward to experimenting with it based on the recipe book provided with the blender.
On going Zentangle classes
I hope all you art enthusiasts have been having a great summer. I was out of country since offering the workshops at the Cary Arts Center, but now am back and ready to tangle with you all!
A number of you had inquired about on-going Zentangle classes. I am excited to announce on-going bi-weekly Zentangle classes for those of you who want to continue your tangling journey as well as those of you who want to embark on this new journey with me........
Day: Every second and fourth Wednesday of each month, starting Wednesday, September 12th
Time: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Cost: $30 + supplies for each class, $50 + supplies if signed up on a monthly basis (2 classes)
Content: Will depend on the interest of the participants; we can explore new tangles, or make Zentangle-inspired art

The purpose of these classes is to offer a respite from the everyday stress and allow focused time to devote to art that often gets lost in the shuffle of a person’s busy life. They will also offer an opportunity to focus on a topic of interest in a TRUE study and growth promoting environment. When I am able to work with students over consecutive weeks, I get to know each student's strengths and weaknesses and can oversee the growth and offer quality encouragement. These classes will also help everyone keep up with their tangle practice.
Please sign-up for each class in advance (at least 2 weeks) by sending me an email (with class date in the email header, "Sept 12th Zentangle class attendance" for the first class, for example), so that I can prepare the material for each class accordingly. I will not take more than 10 students at a time, so the first 10 who sign-up will get in. If there is more interest, I will add more classes, as needed.
Supplies will cost $5 or less per class, which you can pay at the start of each class. I will accommodate you in another class, in case of cancellations from your end. I will let everyone know (well in advance) if I am not conducting class on a particular Wednesday.
Please feel free to forward this information to your friends and whoever else interested. There is no prerequisite for these classes. Any one (12 years and above, please) who is interested in being creative is welcome!
In addition to these bi-weekly classes, I will also schedule private and group classes by request. The group parties can be at your own home. They are a great way to have some fun, celebrate events like birthdays and reunions, exercise your creativity, and enjoy the company of your friends.
